Share a Boat
Fractional sailing programs or shared use programs began with private pilots
that wanted to fly but couldn't justify the expense of owning and
operating the aircraft. Like flying, boat ownership has many added
expenses beyond just the cost of the boat. By sharing a boat you
maximize the use of the boat while lowering the cost.
·
A
boat is shared with six members. Each member is guaranteed a
minimum of three weekend sailing sessions per month and 60 sessions per
season. The online I-Sail reservation system manages usage for each
member. Members are allowed unlimited "as available" use of the boat
when it is not reserved within six hours of a session.
·
Sessions are time periods from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 11:00
AM. Sessions can be combined for overnight trips, weekend, or weekly
use. For example, you may decide to enjoy an evening sail taking the
boat from 6:00 PM and returning any time before 11:00 AM, the next day -
that is one session.
·
Scheduling sessions is easy, log on to the Port Sailing, I-Sail
reservation system and pick the days or sessions you want the boat from
the calendar.
·
Members use the boat as if it was their own, but do not own the boat.
You may bring unlimited guests and family. Membership may be shared by
two partners, when listed on the agreement, and after completing a
checkout sail.
·
We
ask that you clean up after yourself when done sailing and remove any
garbage. Port Sailing will clean the boat weekly, refuel it and add
water to her as needed. The boat is fully equipped and ready to sail.
